SUMMER MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS

What's better in summer than bright or pastel looks; bold eyes or lips that don't look too heavy. Maybe even a natural look? I know I love a light coverage whilst still being able to cover blemishes and look great in make-up - great compared to looking like I've been attacking with crayons anyhow.

This post is a collab with the lovely Louise {from http://lovefromlouu.blogspot.co.uk}. Make sure you go over to her blog and check out her summer essentials after this!

Firstly, I am loving Poundland's Make-Up Gallery collection. Yes, I said Poundland. Don't be followed that this make-up is bad because of where it's from. The collection has actually been reviewed in Vogue here. I was wary at first but am relieved to say that, as far as I know, none of these products have been tested on animals, and that's a big factor for me when it comes to buying make-up. Furthermore, with sensitive skin myself, I can assure you that most do the job in refraining from drying out my skin.

Firstly; the 'Gorgeous, Flawless' foundation is not a let down for a pound. It obviously doesn't have the best coverage but for the summer (who wants to be caked and heavy?) it certainly does the job! With the added concealer, my skin is looking good to go on even the warmest day. The pressed powder sets my foundation without leaving a shine to my face and is light enough to not be too heavy or covering. Although these might not be MAC or Benefit, for a pound, they do a great job and I find that their coverage is more suitable for me in summer, compared to the heaviness of a MAC foundation.

My next summer essentials are the MUA eyeshadow palettes and my new love for Accessorize eyeshadows. Both provide wonderful colours and the MUA palettes, for just £4, are amazing value!

I'm sure you've seen this next palette on dozens of Instagram accounts over the past few months because it is my literal go-to palette every day. This W7 In The Buff palette in 'Natural Nudes' is basically the Naked palette without the label and expensive price tag. A definite essential for a fraction of the price!

My new lipstick love is from Marks and Spencer. In 'Dusted Plum' the lipstick shows full coverage and lasts for hours! It's a lovely matte and doesn't feel to heavy on the lips - something which is great for me as I'm not a lipstick person myself.

What are your summer make-up essentials?
