3 SUMMER DRINKS YOU'LL LOVE


Lately I've been feeling in a very summery mood and therefore I decided to share, with you, some of my favourite Pinterest summer drink recipes. Enjoy!

Strawberry Lemonade


Ingredients


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ¼ cups fresh lemon juice (from about 6 lemons)
  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 24-28 oz fresh cold water
  • ice

Directions


  1. Bring the sugar and water to a simmer in a small saucepot. Stir so that sugar melts completely then remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
  2. Place the strawberries in a blender and process until smooth. Pour pureed strawberries in the sugar water and stir well. Add the lemon juice.
  3. Combine the strawberry lemon syrup and the cold water in a large pitcher. Stir well and add lots of ice.
  4. Serve lemonade with thin slices of lemons and strawberries.


Lemon & Lime Sherbet Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of Lemon Lime Kool Aid (or a substitute) plus 1 cup of sugar and water to make it
  • 1 two litre Lemonade (of any brand)
  • 1 46 fl oz canned pineapple juice
  • 1 48 fl oz carton lime sherbet

Directions

  1. Make the Kool Aid in a pitcher the night before. Fill up two ice trays with the Kool Aid and freeze overnight.
  2. In a large punch bowl, pour in the pineapple juice, lemonade and mix in the sherbet. Add Kool Aid ice cubes and let the ice and sherbet melt slightly before serving.


Watermelon Lemonade


Ingredients


  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1/2 medium seedless watermelon (about 9 pounds), rind removed, flesh cut into chunks



Directions

  1. Squeeze lemons into a large pitcher; add squeezed lemon quarters.
  2. Add mint and sugar; mash with a wooden spoon until mint is bruised and the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a blender, puree watermelon in batches until smooth; pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher. Stir to combine then refrigerate.
